EMIS and Food Service

I am pleased to announce that this coming school year the cafeteria at the high school will have two serving times for lunch: 11:31 a.m. to 12:01p.m. and 12:16 p.m. to 12:46 p.m.. This will alleviate the long waiting line and also provide ample of time to eat.

The elementary will have four serving times for lunch this year: KG and 1 st grade will be served at 10:40 a.m., 2 nd and 3 rd grades will be served at 11:10 a.m., 7 th and 8 th grades will be served at 11:50 a.m. and 4 th, 5 th and 6 th will be served at 12:20 p.m. With one additional lunch period, this should also reduce congestion and provide more time to eat.

With increased prices for food and getting the food and supplies that are needed delivered as well as trying to get the cafeteria in the black, we have been forced to increase our lunch prices. Breakfast prices will remain the same in both buildings which is $1.00. Lunch prices for elementary students will be $1.75 and $2.00 for high school students. Adult price for breakfast will remain at $1.60 but lunch prices will go up to $3.00. Reduced breakfast prices will be $.30 and the reduced lunch price will be $.40 for both buildings.

Just as a reminder, we here at Southern Local have implemented a café terminal system in the high school which started up last December. This is the same system that is used in our elementary. With this system, café terminal automatically prices the meal according to the students meal pricing eligibility. The procedure is performed in a manner that ensures eligibility confidentiality. At no time can anyone tell the difference between students that are paid, reduced or free.
