BELPRE CITY SCHOOLS
SPECIAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

In the Area of Special Services, the Special Education staff strive to assure our children with disabilities are afforded individualized instruction according to need. The Education of all Handicapped Children Act (P.L. 94-142) was enacted in 1995 to assure all children with disabilities are guaranteed a free and appropriate public education. The Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), has mandated these guarantees.
