Ninth grade health is an abstinence based curriculum. Areas
of study include the following: mental / social health skills;
making responsible decisions; goal setting; nutrition; weight
management; eating disorders; tobacco, alcohol, & other drugs;
reproductive systems; STD's/HIV/AIDS; first aid and emergency care.
This course is a requirement for graduation and is worth 1/2 credit.
Students will
participate in a wide variety of activities in phys.ed. Skills,
rules, and game strategies will be stressed in team, individual, and
dual sports. Improving personal fitness will be a priority each day.
Students will complete the Presidential physical fitness test. This
class is a requirement for graduation and is worth 1/4 credit.

Social
Health is defined as being a "combination of your physical,
mental/emotional, and social well-being" as illustrated by the above
